Here are some photos of Melanie and Jade's excursions from that last few days. Jade has been to her first tea party. She is now 22 inches and 10 lbs.

First Doctor Visit

Jade had her first Doctor appointment this week. She is now a little over 8lbs and 21 inches long. The doctor was extremely impressed with her progress. She has already started practicing rolling over. Her are some recent pictures. Hope you all enjoy them.

Home and Doing Well

Melanie and Jade have been home for a few days now and are doing well. We are starting to adapt to new sleeping patterns. We have so many friends and family that have been a blessing in so many ways. We cannot begin to thank them all sufficiently. We truly thank God for His goodness in allowing us to know so many kind and loving people.

We had an eventful day yesterday with many of our family and friends stopping by to check in on Jade and Melanie. I have included a few of the photos. Believe me these are only a small fraction of the ones we took.

Jade Evelyn

Melanie went into labor on Friday morning at 2:20 am. We headed on to the hospital. Jade Evelyn made her entrance at 1:38 pm Friday afternoon.

Jade weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20.25 inches long. Mother and baby are both doing well.

We are all so thankful that everything is going so well. Thank you all for your prayers.

Apologies for the Delay

Sorry, I haven't posted sooner. I was in Indianapolis last week for a book expo and Melanie was sent home on bed rest the day I left so we have both been a little tied for a few days.

Melanie had a great followup appointment yesterday. The doctor says things are looking much improved. However, he wants to make sure she gets plenty of rest for the next few days.

We are doing well. I hope to post again soon.

36 Week Ultrasound

This is a view looking down on the baby's face. The picture is sideways so you will have to look closely to figure it out. Yes she looks a little like an alien now, but of course we think she is adorable. We are very anxious for her arrival!!


Here is an easier one to decipher. This is her profile. She has her lips all puckered up.

The Dr. says everything looks good and right on track. The baby weighs about 6lbs 10 oz at this time, and will probably gain about 1/2 lb every week until she arrives. We see the Dr. every week from now until the delivery. Tomorrow evening we get to go tour the hospital and turn in the forms necessary for quick processing when the time comes. We will keep you all informed.
