Christmas Festivities

Hope all is well with everyone. I am sorry about the tiny pics on the last post. I am experimenting with changing the size so they upload faster. Bear with me while I tweak them a little.

Here are some fun pics of Jade getting in the holiday spirit (or is it mom forcing the holiday spirit) haha!

Every year Mamaw Elkins' family gets together to decorate the family Christmas Tree. This year Jade got in on the activity here she is observing the process.

More festivities at Mamaw E's. This is Chad's Aunt Rhonda, and his cousin Tahnee assisting Jade with her reindeer antlers.

Our little blessing. Jade is a source of great joy to us daily. We are so grateful to God for entrusting us with her life.

This is Grammy and Jade at the Crown College Christmas open house.

Ho ho ho, and bye bye for now!

Yes we are still alive!!

Hello all, yes believe it or not the Mitchells are posting!! So sorry it has been forever what can I say it has been crazy. Chad has a new position at work which keeps him very busy, but he is loving it! Of course like all mothers I work 24/7 ha ha. I have also been working with my business as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. So as you can see we keep busy, and are on the go a lot.

In October Jade and I went to spend some time with my sister Sarah and her two little ones. Everett was 2 in June, and Alivia is just now 3 months old. Jade is 8 months in this picture of the three cousins posing rather haphazardly for a picture.
My mother and grandmother came out to Sarah's for a day or so. Here is a 4 generation picture.
Here is a more recent picture of Jade. Snack before Thanksgiving dinner at Papaw Mitchell's house.

Jade is doing well. She will be 10 months on the 16th of this month, and is keeping me hopping. I will post more later.

Eating Solid Food

I thought that you all of you might enjoy some pics of Jade eating solid foods. We just started this a week or so ago. Enjoy!

Sorry its been so long

Well, once again it has been a while since we have posted anything. Unfortunately, I am just placing a quick post and will have to try and put some pictures up tomorrow.

It has been an extremely busy month for Melanie, Jade and myself. The first full week of August I was able to take some vacation time and we had a great week as a family. Mostly we got some much needed rest. We did make a short trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the drive.

Well, I hope that this quick post finds you and your families well. I look forward to posting again soon.

Special Time With Family

Chad went on a business trip last week, so Jade and I went to spend time with Grandma & Grandpa Lefevre (my dad & step mom). We had a great time! Jade was taken with Grandpa's beard. She was grabbing and pulling at it.

Cuddle time. She just started doing this in the last week. It is so adorable.

This is cuddle time with Papaw Mitchell who missed Jade very much while we were in VA.

Here is Jade sporting the new outfit the Grandma Lefevre bought her. It has ladybugs embroidered on it. She looked precious in it; however, my opinion may be biased.

Last but definitely not least we spent lots of quality bonding time with Grandma Lefevre. She was so delighted to have us, and we had such a wonderful time with her.

Toes, Etc.

Here it is folks the update you have been waiting for. I am sorry it has been so long. Someone should have told me that the speed of time doubles when you have a little one. Where does the time go!

Well, we have now discovered the toes. When I watch her I realize how much I miss the simple things of life. She still looks at her hands and now her toes with utter amazement that they are hers! We serve a mighty God!!

These are just a couple of pics I really liked. The first one is Jade playing in her high chair. She has no clue what the thing is really for, but will know in the next couple of weeks. We are about to hit the 6 month mark and with that she will start on solid food. The last picture here is Jade demonstrating her newly found obsession with faces. She loves to grab noses and rub cheeks.

Independence Day

Here is daddy and his little patriotic princess.

Aren't we festive! she loved holding the flag, although she did try to put it in her mouth which I informed her was very unpatriotic.

Close up of a meditative look.

Nobody cares about her, she gets absolutely no attention, don't you feel so bad for her? Haha :)

Hope all of you have a wonderful Independence Day!

More Pictures of Jade

Jade's newest amazing discovery! Her toes! It is incredible to watch her learn about the things around her, and see how intrigued she is about the simple things of life.

Daddy took this picture of his little princess. They have so much fun together!

Best buds. This is Jade and Katie Troell bonding. The Troells were here to visit just a few weeks ago, and did us the great honor of staying with us. We are so thankful to God for their friendship.

Chad had a week of vacation, part of which we took his Mamaw and went to Atlanta to visit Aunt Carol and her kids. This Mamaw with two of the great grandchildren.

This is Jade and her second cousin (twice removed I think:)) Maddie is Chad's cousin's daughter so whatever that happens to be. haha

We are doing well. Chad is keeping busy with work, while I keep busy at home. I am working from home as a Senior Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics and am enjoying being at home with Jade.

Thanks for visiting us on our blog. I will post more as soon as possible.

The Wake Up Process

Here we have stage one of the wake up process. "Would guys just go away and leave me alone!"

"I told you all to quit taking my picture and let me rest!"

"Ok, fine I will just ignore you, and see if that works."

Memorial Day

We are so grateful to God for Jade. She is a delight to us each day.

Here is Jade hanging out on Memorial Day. She and Seth were buddies for the day. Seth is grandson of Tonia my father-in-law's girl friend.

We must spend that quality time with Papaw Mitchell. We underwent a wardrobe change, but only out of necessity. :)

Cool shades!! She actually keeps these on pretty good. They were a gift with one of the outfits we got from one of the families in the church.

Washington State

Jade and I are back from WA. It was wonderful to see family, but we are glad to be home seeing that the trip was fast, furious, and full of much time in the car! We both missed Chad very much. Above is a pic of Jade and Everett having quality cousin time. Everett loved Jade, and has been asking his mother where she is since they dropped us at the airport to go home!

Here is Jade soaking up some rays in my aunt's backyard. She absolutely loved the fresh air and shade; she was happy there for about an hour.

Great Grandma Becker enjoyed some quality time with Jade.

Then of course we saw the obvious need for a four generation picture, which Jade slept through.

Next time on the Mitchell blog you can read about a day with Grampa Lefevre & Grandma Kay, as well as, Memorial Day activities.

Jade's Dedication

We dedicated Jade on April 1st. Many of the family members participated in this occasion. Here are some pics taken that day.

Chad's dad, his girl friend Tonia, and Mamaw Mitchell were present.

Pastor Sexton is the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN where we attend church.

Chad's Aunt Fauna, and her daughter Tiffany were able to be with us for this special event.

Here she is all decked out for the dedication!

My dad and stepmom came out from Wytheville, VA to be with us on this special day. Bevery (my sister) also attended church with us that day.

This is the three of us with Chad's mom.

I will post more soon. Jade and I are in WA for the week, and will be returning home on the 21st. We came out to visit my mom's parents as they have not been doing well. Our arrival of Friday last week was just in time to allow us to see my grandfather before he passed away early Sunday morning. We are now in Olympia with my sister Sarah, her husband Kerry, and their almost 2 year old son Everett. I will treat you all to pics of the two kids soon. We will all be travelling to Moscow, ID tomorrow for an 11:00 funeral on Saturday. Please pray for safety as we travel. The trip back will be made on Sunday allowing for our departure from Seattle on Monday.

Update Long Overdue

I apologize that we have not updated the blog for awhile. Life has been quite crazy for the last 3 months. Chad has been so busy at work that he has not been able to update, and we don't have internet access at home quite yet. Hopefully we will have it soon. Here are so pics from the last month or so with some explanation about events.

Every other Friday Chad's mother, grandmother, aunts, and some of the girls go out to eat or enjoy some other fun activity together. This was the first of such outings that Jade and I attended, and it happened to be a tea party! So of course I had to doll her up for the occasion. This is Jade on the couch ready to go.

This is the tea party. It was such fun.

This is Chad's second cousin Tahnee spending some quality tea time with Jade.

Here is Grammy (Chad's mom) with baby Jade at the tea party.
